RM: A Starting Point
A source-first path into RM’s public work. This page does not rank members and does not discuss private life. Use it if you like writing, structure, and the way a song is built in public credits.
BTS Insight is independent and is not affiliated with BTS, BIGHIT MUSIC, HYBE, Weverse, or Ticketmaster. If this page and an official notice disagree, follow the official source. Last editorial update: 27 August 2026.
A listening door
RM is a useful entry for lyric-focused listening: how a verse is shaped, how a record is sequenced, and how official notes talk about craft. Start with one official solo video, then hear how that voice sits inside group work.
Documented solo-era work includes the album Indigo and later official releases; Wild Flower remains a clear official video to begin with. Then place that listen next to ARIRANG rather than treating solo and group as a contest.
Where 2026 fits
All seven completed military service by mid-2025 and returned to group work. The present-tense chapter is the fifth studio album ARIRANG (20 March 2026) and BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’, which opened on 9 April 2026. Solo official releases below remain useful doors; they sit beside the group album, they do not replace it.

Official video

How to use this RM starting point
This page works best as a route into official material rather than as a complete biography. Start with one official song, performance, or interview already linked here, then follow one detail that interests you. That might be a vocal choice, rap delivery, production credit, stage movement, visual concept, or the way a performance changes across different settings.
| Step | What to do | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Choose one official piece of content. | Create a clear entry point. |
| 2 | Notice one artistic or performance detail. | Keep the exploration focused. |
| 3 | Check current facts at the original source. | Separate context from outdated information. |
| 4 | Compare with another official release or performance. | Build a wider picture over time. |
